Regulatory week ahead: 10-14 August 2026
Twelve regulatory events across gambling, financial services, AI, data and digital, with the procedural status and next deadline for each.

Twelve regulatory events fall between 10 and 14 August across gambling, financial services, AI, data and digital. Most are consultation or response deadlines. None is an operative new rule this week, and New Zealand's expression-of-interest deadline is an entry stage for a later auction, not a licence award.
*Gambling*
Sweden: technical, certification and responsible-gambling consultations
Monday 10 August. Two Spelinspektionen consultations close. The proposed instruments cover technical and certification requirements and responsible-gambling rules; neither is in effect.
Pennsylvania: responsible-gambling rulemaking comments
Monday 10 August. Comments close on a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board proposal covering responsible-gambling programmes, marketing opt-outs, player controls, self-exclusion, training and reporting.
New Zealand: online-casino auction expression of interest
Friday 14 August. Expressions of interest close at the end of Friday locally. Acceptance allows an applicant to enter the later online-casino licence auction; it does not grant a licence.
*Financial Services including Crypto*
United Kingdom: FCA penalty and decision-making policies
Monday 10 August. The FCA consultation closes. It includes proposed changes for serious individual market-abuse cases and consequential treatment of cryptoasset market abuse.
United Kingdom: longer RTGS and CHAPS settlement hours
Monday 10 August. The Bank of England consultation closes on options including longer weekdays and settlement on weekends and bank holidays. No decision has been taken.
European Union: linked Taxonomy disclosure consultations
Wednesday 12 August. Three linked EBA, EIOPA and ESMA consultations close. They concern disclosure measures and technical advice, not adopted rules.
Canada: bid and beneficial-ownership proposals
Wednesday 12 August. Canadian securities regulators close comments on proposed changes to issuer bids, takeover bids and beneficial-ownership reporting.
Australia: regulation of accounting, auditing and consulting firms
Wednesday 12 August. Australia's Treasury closes its consultation on regulatory settings for accounting, auditing and consulting firms. It considers policy options rather than announcing a final model.
*AI, Data and Digital*
Canada: consumer communications and artificial-voice disclosure
Tuesday 11 August. Two CRTC proceedings reach response deadlines. One would harmonise four communications consumer codes; the other is an existing-party reply stage that includes questions about AI and artificial-voice disclosure.
United Kingdom: AI assurance in the energy sector
Wednesday 12 August. Ofgem's call for input closes. It seeks evidence on AI assurance needs and methods in the energy sector; it does not set a rule.
Brazil: AI and data-protection sandbox consultation
Thursday 13 August. Brazil's data protection authority holds a remote consultation session on an AI and data-protection regulatory sandbox. The session concerns the sandbox's design and does not establish final requirements.
Japan: draft breach and cyberattack reporting notice
Friday 14 August. Comments close on draft changes to personal-data breach reporting, including cyberattack reporting. The notice has not been adopted.
